Introducing Somala Diby!

This month, we are welcoming Somala Diby as our new Fund Intern!

Somala is a Masters in City Planning student at MIT's Department of Urban Studies and Planning. She's broadly interested in neighborhood and community development, especially as it relates to housing and undoing racialized planning practice. More recently, she's been thinking about alternative forms of property ownership in cities. Previously, she worked as an Urban Institute researcher studying equitable development, neighborhood change, and urban resilience, and supporting community-engaged research projects in partnership with government agencies, nonprofits, and neighborhood residents.
