Action Alert: Act to Guarantee Housing Stability

City Life/Vida Urbana is asking that people call their state representatives to urge leadership to move the Act to Guarantee Housing Stability out of the Housing Committee and to pass it immediately. To stay informed, sign up for City Life/Vida Urbana's action alerts online here.

City Life, along with Ujima, is a part of the Black Mass Coalition, which is organizing around a wide number of targets including a call to the state legislature to commit to introducing and adopting legislation that would protect residential and commercial tenants from evictions, ban homeowner foreclosures, and provide support for landlords. Action Alert: MA Indigenous Legislative Agenda

This week, the Massachusetts Senate unanimously voted to change the State flag and seal. A coalition of organizations are leading this effort including North American Indian Center of Boston, one of our Black Mass Coalition partners, United American Indians of New England, MA Indigenous Legislative Agenda, Massachusetts Peace Action, and many others. We applaud this victory and we will continue to stand in solidarity and amplify their call to eradicate these ongoing injustices. They are not done, and are asking for a signal boost on the following bills:

  • The Resolve Providing for the Creation of a Special Commission Relative to the Seal and Motto of the Commonwealth S.1877 / H.2776
  • An Act Prohibiting the Use of Native American Mascots by Public Schools in the Commonwealth S.247 / H.443
  • An Act to Protect Native American Heritage S.1811 / H.2948

Live updates for the Indigenous Legislative Agenda can be found here. For more information: go to MaIndigenousAgenda.org / ChangetheMaFlag.com
