Dear Friend,

We are proud to unveil our first Investor Report, a guide which will provide reflections, context and updates on the Ujima Fund, our recent investees, and a roadmap for future investments.

On December 9, 2020, investors and members had the opportunity to speak directly with CERO Cooperative at our inaugural Investments Report Out. While we celebrated the anniversary of our first Ujima vote, we also gained deeper insight into the challenges and triumphs of running a green company in 2020.

Now, you have the Investor Report which documents the trials and achievements of the Ujima Fund. In this investment report, you will read messages from our Executive Director, Nia K. Evans and the Fund’s Managing Director, Johnny Charles; learn more about our current investees; and see reflections from our Grassroots Partners and peers.

The Ujima Fund’s Investor Report is a result of the passionate work carried out by members, the Fund’s management team and our wider community. We have created a web page which we will update quarterly, alongside a more comprehensive, reflective biannual report. You can access the website and full report here.

While the past year was incredibly challenging, we are proud of the work we have done with our communities. Last year, we launched the Worker and Resident Care Fund, and partnered with our peers on many coalition projects, including Black Mass Coalition and Business Equity Fund COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund, to make good on the meaning of our namesake.

We are incredibly grateful to members and the Ujima Fund Management Team for their support, and to Morgan Lewis for their invaluable pro bono work.

Thank you for your continued support of the Boston Ujima Project!
